Last Friday I was having a bad day; and by 19:00 my two roommates were proving without a doubt that they just weren’t pulling their own weight anymore. So I loaded them up in my pickup and proceeded to the nearest hardware store. Since moving to the Southeast part of town this happens to be Home Depot.
So I’ll fast-forward to when I breached the entrance that is boldly marked “EXIT” for some reason. I then query the first employee I see after passing the cash registers. Well what would you do?
Anyway, not that the details are interesting, but I explained to him that I needed to dispose of a couple bodies that were in the back of my truck outside. So I asked if he knew where I could find some huge sacks of lime, something to cut through adult sized bone of course, and maybe some carbolic acid etc. Without even the slightest bat of an eye that I usually get from nosey people when needing such things, the orange-apron adorned gentleman personally escorted me to each of the items on my list and even proactively suggested the perfectly sized wheel barrel I wish I would have had along with me the last time I had deadbeat roommates. He (and I wish I remembered his name) made the subsequent grunt work so much easier and saved me so much time (it’s the currency of life after all) that I finished before dawn with hours to spare.
Is it not refreshing to encounter people who actually know their job these days? What other businesses in town have you had good customer service experiences with?

I’ll first have to know how well the product did its job?
Top ↑Ha! Great post. Well unlike the silly complaint at http://idahofallstoday.com/watch-your-receipt-at-texas-roadhouse-grill/
Top ↑I love the friendly service at Texas Roadhouse, and the occasional line dance they do!
I will definitely keep Home Depot in mind for my more disturbing household needs, kudos! : )
Top ↑Oh wow — it is nice to see SOME people actually receive good customer service in this town. In my experience, and after talking to several people regarding it — before reading these posts — customer service in Idaho Falls is Much More rare than it seems to be in Other Communities individuals have lived in, whether it be the Portland area, the Indianapolis area, the Wisconsin area or even in rural New York! To name a few that I remember were mentioned.
Top ↑Good customer service always pays.
Top ↑I think the sprint store out in ammon has the best service I have received period. They always take care of you as a person and of your needs, rather then just another annoyance like I feel I am at other stores in town, sorry I asked for help… Other amazing stores include Anchor Boats, Jones Motor sports, Rocknaks, Checkers on 17th, Skis you know to tell you the truth almost all Indepently owned and operated mom and pop shops have the best service you can find and im not talking about taco bell thats owned by a local but small shops. Wish they were easyer to find still
Top ↑That’s because a lot of the time the person helping you in a locally owned business has a personal interest in how well the company does. Support locally owned businesses!
We tried Lucy’s pizza this last weekend, and it was great, we will be back.
